My life as a healing practitioner grew from my own need to heal – from the chronic pain of a bad back, from trauma, from cancer. Everything that helped me – yoga & meditation; conscious breathing & Chakra practice; Alexander Technique & CranioSacral Therapy – I practiced, studied and explored, and over time, fused into into one cohesive healing modality. Body Therapy addresses the whole being – mind, body, psyche and emotions, and teaches techniques that develop self-awareness to support and center daily life.
I am blessed to have studied with great teachers – among them B.K.S. Iyengar, Jatabhi Jois, Swami Bua and Swami Nirajanananda of the Bihar Yoga Institute. In 1982, I graduated from the American Center for the Alexander Technique. Starting in 1993, I studied CranioSacral Therapy with Richard Royster in Germany and at the Upledger Institute in Florida. I am registered nationally as a yoga teacher at the highest level of experience and expertise, E-RYT 500.
I have taught and practiced since 1984 in both Europe and America, privately and through seminars; developed programs of stress management for cancer patients; given seminars at the Institute for Movement Education in Munich, and the Music Conservatory in Berlin. I created ‘The Sacred Spine’, a workshop for spinal health first presented at the Yoga Alliance National Conference in 2011; and developed ‘SomaticCentering’, a six step yoga based protocol that promotes alignment, flexibility and balance.
In 1995. I came back to my home, New York City, to live and work. My clients range from people dealing with pain, injury, stress and trauma, to performing artists seeking to maximize their techniques, to those interested in the process of self exploration as a means of living as their best possible lives.
