Meditation – Still Water, Clear Water

The mind at rest with itself is like a mountain lake, when no wind disturbs the surface, and the lake is absolutely still.

In that stillness, the water clears, and you see the lake floor, as though looking through glass.

Meditation is slowing the thought-winds that agitate the surface of your mind – so that one day, in the clarity of undisturbed consciousness, you will see through to the ground of your being.

The thought alone is enough to calm you down.
