Do you know those moments, just before a storm, when everything seems to stop? There seems to be no sound, not a breath of wind even – as though the whole was holding its breath….
In meditation there are moments just like that, moments when, suspended and weightless, you enter into some huge, unknown place, where nothing moves. Like you’ve come to the still point of the universe, where even time does not exist.
Deepest meditation is time spent in the cosmic still point within. The process of getting there can take a life time. Or it can come upon you like a sudden storm on a summer day, when the clouds bank over a hill and it’s about to rain – and nature opens her heart and with no effort at all you are – simply – there.
I love to watch a storm coming down….
